A Family Affair

Ric and I met ten years ago at a young couples event sponsored by the American Jewish Committee. So, when they asked if we’d photograph their big annual event this year, how could we refuse? We have a special place in our hearts for the AJC and really enjoyed being a part of their Family Affair program at the TWELVE ballroom in Atlantic Station. First of all, the food (they insisted that we eat!) was phenomenal. Sandra Banks with Added Touch created the most delicious and beautiful hors d’oerves and dinner. If someone had handed me an entire tray of the seared tuna appetizers, I’d happily have dropped everything to devour each and every one.
The program was pretty incredible. It was honoring Carol Cooper, Laura Dinerman, Sara Franco & Judy Zaban, the wife and daughters of honored Atlanta philanthropist, Irwin Zaban. These women are all incredibly involved in the Atlanta community and the AJC Chapter awarded them the Centennial Selig Distinguished Service Award. The Berman Family who hosted the event, wrote and printed a new version of the wonderful book, The Giving Tree (complete with Georgia peaches instead of apples) and presented copies to the honorees.

Ric and I left the program inspired to be more involved in the community, and to reinforce the importance of charity to our children.
